Knit & Knatter
Adminstrators: Christine Crease, Sue Keir and Louise Boylan.
Knit and Knatter sessions are held at Little Chalfont Community Library from 10.00 to 12.00 every Monday excluding bank holidays for a donation of £2.00.
The group consist of skilled and talented knitters/crafters and new knitters too. Over the years the group has taught many beginners to become confident in their projects.
A raffle is run every month to fund trips and lunches in celebration of being together and we have won the Skipton Grass Roots giving award to community groups twice. Members are aged between 35 – 90 and all enjoy the social aspect very much and even the shyest can blossom.
Whilst working on their own projects all join in with charity knits.
Twiddlemuffs for Dementia patients - Hats, Scarves and Gloves for Sailors - Blankets and clothes for premature babies - fifty blankets for a London Hospital and for aged people homes and ongoing knits for the homeless through Inspire-GB to name a few. Also, a personal charity is highlighted every two months and contributions towards that personal charity are collected from the group.
A Scarecrow was presented for Village Day 2018 and a Christmas Tree for decoration has been completed for Christmas 2019.
PLEASE NOTE: The Knit & Knatter group is extremely popular and unfortunately we do not have space for any new members at the moment. There is however a waiting list of people wanting to join so please contact us if you would like to be added to the list.
